This is Triunfo Gardens from the air. We would have taken a closer shot but we couldn't because we were in a balloon and the trajectory was controlled by the wind. You can clearly see the layout of the gardens and the statue of Mariana Pineda at the top.
Mariana Pineda was arrested after a flag was found in her home that had the motto "Equality, Freedom and Law" embroidered on it. She was publicly executed in Granada on May 26, 1831, at age 26. The building in front of the gardens is the Hospital Real.
I sometimes get asked by tourists in Granada for directions to Triunfo Gardens. It is a very pleasant park and a great place to see if you are passing but maybe not worth a special trip across the city to see it.
