Sierra Nevada Observatory

The Sierra Nevada Observatory (OSN) is located at Loma de Dilar in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, in the province of Granada. It is operated and maintained by the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalucia and contains two Nasmyth telescopes with apertures of 1.5 and 0.9 meters.

During the summer months of July and August, the Observatory opens its doors to the public. With this organised visit, prior booking of the same, you will learn about the main functions of these installations. Access is via the gondola lift to Borreguiles and then in a chair lift to the top of the same. A guided visit to the inside of the Observatory of approximately one hour, complements a good summer's day in Sierra Nevada.
