Painting of the Realejo

The photo is a painting that is hanging on the wall of the Damasqueros bar. It was painted many years ago. The layout of the street is exactly the same as it is now. At the moment up on the left is now the Damasqueros bar and to the immediate left there is a Mexican restaurant.

The barrio Realejos is one of the original neighborhoods of Granada with a history going back hundreds of years. You will often see in tourist guides that it was the Jewish area of Granada, however nowadays there is almost no trace or evidence of this. It is a very pleasant residential area of Granada with lots of life both cultural and social.
