The Alhambra by moonlight.

Spanish German

The Alhambra by moonlight.

The Alhambra by moonlight. In the Spring the sound of nightingales singing along the river Darro is even more beautiful than usual on moonlit nights.

This is what Washington Irving said about the effects of moonlight on the Alhambra:
‘Every rent and chasm of time, every mouldering tint and weather-stain disappears, the marble resumes its original whiteness, the long colonnades brighten in the moon beams, the halls are illuminated with a softened radiance, until the whole edifice reminds one of the enchanted palace of an Arabian tale.’
