Bar El Pibe

The Pibe restaurant is located in the camino de Sacromonte which has beautiful views of the valley and Alhambra opposite. There are about 10 seats outside and it can get busy. The inside of the bar/restaurant is a cave which is built into the hillside. There are many cosy whitewashed rooms. It has a unique and authentic feel. The prices are fairly low, it serves free tapas and plates of food know as "raciones".

This is bar you would go to while on a stroll through the Sacromonte. There are a few parking spaces which are marked in white (not yellow) along the camino de Sacromonte.

It is on this stretch of road that you will find a lot of Tablaos or Gypsy caves with Flamenco performances. Most of the people who go to the Flamenco performances are bused in from their hotel. The Tablaos are fairly touristy but if you are the kind of person to get to the Sacromonte under your own steam you could get into a Flamenco performance for a much lower price than if you have been brought here on a bus. Just go and ask them at the door how much it would cost. Most of the performances do not start until after at least 8.30pm.
