This was constructed during the Nasrid period in the 13th century during the reign of Muhammad I (1232–1273), the founder of the Nasrid dynasty. This military gate was originally one of the main entrances for soldiers and members of the public entering the Alhambra from the Albaicín area on the other side of the River Darro. It is no longer used as an entrance and is not open to the public.
Torre de las Armas (Tower of the Arms)
